Photograph album of a Dutch traveler from his trip to Dutch East Indies, dated Mendoet (village of Mendut), July 1923, measuring
approximately 5.25 x 7 inches (13 x 17.5 cm). Contains 20 sepia photographs, measuring approximately 3.25 x 4.5 inches (8
x 11.5 cm), each with manuscript caption in Dutch, mounted onto 10 cardstock leaves. Photos depict village scenes and traditional
life of indigenous people, including Larantuka women, inhabitants of Mendut, Javan coppersmith, Javan coolies with pikolan
(carrying poles), and an Indonesian warung (waroeng) - a small family-owned business. Derived from dealer description:
